Trueline Leveling System Guide

Overview

The Valid Trueline Leveling System provides a comfortable ride by controlling the air suspension while traveling. It also lets you easily level your vehicle when parked, with either air, hydraulic jacks (if equipped), or both.

Leveling controls are found on the right-hand selectable display area of the GIC.

Auto Mode

Auto mode can be used to automatically level a stationary vehicle using either the air suspension or the hydraulic jacks, or a combination of both.

This mode is the easiest leveling method to use and is suitable for most leveling situations.

Auto Mode – Air Leveling

To level your vehicle with the air suspension, ensure that:

  • The ignition is on and the air system is at full pressure.
  • The hydraulic jacks are fully retracted.
  • The park brake is engaged.
  • The front wheels are straightened.

The hydraulic jacks must be fully retracted before entering auto mode. If they are not, a warning is displayed on the GIC.

What happens during air leveling?

  • The leveling system detects the lowest corner of the vehicle, and then levels (lowers) the other corners to it.
  • If the system determines that it is unable to lower the vehicle to level, any corners that are low will then be raised to the level of the highest corner.
  • After 20 seconds, the system goes into low power mode.

To stop leveling at any time:

  1. Access the leveling menu.
  2. Select Exit Auto, and press.

Changing the Height of a Leveled Coach

A leveled vehicle can be raised or lowered to adjust the entry doorstep height.

  1. The ignition should be on with the air system at full pressure.
  2. Select Raise All or Lower All on the main menu, and press.

This causes the vehicle to move up or down while staying level.

Auto Mode – Jack Leveling

Auto jack leveling mode uses the vehicle’s hydraulic jacks to level the vehicle.

To level your vehicle using the hydraulic jacks, ensure that:

  • The ignition is on and the air system is at full pressure.
  • The park brake is engaged.
  • The front wheels are straightened.

What happens during auto jack leveling?

  • The suspension airbags are deflated and the vehicle is lowered. The jacks lower on the low side of the vehicle, and then on the other side.
  • The lateral (side-to-side) level is adjusted on the vehicle’s front, and then on the vehicle’s rear. The longitudinal (end-to-end) level is adjusted. These three procedures are repeated until the vehicle is level.
  • After 20 seconds, the system goes into low power mode.

Auto Mode- Combo Leveling

Combo leveling mode levels the vehicle using both the suspension air bags and the hydraulic jacks.

To level your vehicle using both air and hydraulic systems, ensure that:

  • The ignition is on and the air system is at full pressure.
  • The park brake is engaged.
  • The front wheels are straightened.

What happens during combo leveling?

  • The coach is lowered and leveled using the air bags, while the jacks extend to the ground.
  • Once the leveling system detects that the jacks have contacted the ground, it stops lowering using the air bags, and finishes any fine adjustments using the jacks.
  • After 20 seconds, the system goes into low power mode.

Travel Mode

Travel mode is the operational mode used when the vehicle is in motion.

This mode controls the vehicle’s air suspension system. There are three factory-defined levels:

  • High Ride
  • Normal (Standard) Ride
  • Low Ride

To put your vehicle into travel mode, ensure that:

  • The ignition is on and the vehicle is running.
  • If using hydraulic jacks, they will retract automatically.

Instructions on Travel Mode

  1. Rotate the knob to go to the Leveling screen. Press to select.

  1. Select Travel, and press.

Once in travel mode, the hydraulic jacks retract and the suspension goes to standard ride height.

High Ride, Low Ride

High Ride and Low Ride are available only at low speeds. As the vehicle speeds up, it goes to standard ride height.

  • Select High Ride to negotiate uneven terrain.

  • Select Low Ride to allow additional clearance to the top of the vehicle.

Manual Tag Dump

Normally, the tag axle dump is controlled automatically by the vehicle situation. With Manual Tag Dump, the tag air bag pressure can be reduced at low speeds to transfer the weight from the tag axle to the rear drive axle. This results in decreased tag axle tire drag while turning, and increased traction in low grip conditions.

Using Manual Tag Dump

  1. In travel mode, select More, and press.
  2. Select Tag Dump while stationary or moving at a low speed.
  3. If Tag Dump is selected again, or the vehicle speed increases above the low speed threshold, the tag axle air bags will inflate.

Manual Mode

Use manual leveling mode to manually adjust each corner of the vehicle. The vehicle can also be lowered or raised by using the All Lower or All Raise command while in Auto Air leveling mode.

Using Manual Mode

  1. Ensure that the vehicle is either parked (but still running) or traveling slower than the manual mode speed limit (5 mph).
  2. If the vehicle is parked, make sure the front wheels are straight.
  3. Go to Leveling > More.
